2025–2026 U13 to U16 Thursday Development Program
All sessions are $25 and will take place at the Newcastle Memorial Arena on Thursdays at 7:00 PM. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
We are excited to introduce Josh Barker Development as our partner for this program, offering high-quality development sessions for players of all skill levels. Participants will be grouped by ability to ensure individualized attention and maximum development. Each session will focus on key areas, including skating, puck control, shooting, and stickhandling, with an emphasis on identifying areas for improvement and providing targeted support to help each player progress.
Skill Levels
This program is being offered to players in the U13 to U16 age groups across all skill levels. Please use the following guidelines when selecting Skill Level in the Player Information section. This helps us plan each session, but regardless of your selection, coaches will assess each player on the ice.
Emerging Competitors
For players building a solid foundation in hockey. These players focus on improving balance, speed, and puck control while developing their skating fundamentals.
Skilled Performers
For players with solid hockey experience who have developed consistent skating skills (forward, backward, and transitions) and improved puck-handling skills. These players demonstrate control in stops on both sides but are still refining their technique.
Game-Ready Players
For players with strong, well-rounded skating skills (forward, backward, transitions), excellent puck control, and consistent balance. These players are ready for advanced drills, team strategies, and game-like scenarios.
