August Update
Hello to all our hockey families!

We have a registration update as well as news regarding a renewed focus on skill development in Newcastle.

As the new season quickly approaches, we're bubbling with excitement, so let's jump right in!

Spot Availability

Our team registrations are in full swing, so let's start with an update on availability.

For our Mites U5 (2019) level, there are ample spots remaining. If your little one is eager to start their hockey journey, regardless of their level or skating skills, this is the perfect opportunity.

Our U7 (2017/18) and U8 (2016) divisions are filling up fast, but there's still a chance to secure a spot for your player!

Unfortunately, our U9 (2015) division is now waitlisted. However, we encourage you to add your player to the waitlist. If we see enough interest, we may open up another team.

Our U11 (2013/14), U13 (2011/2012), and U15 (2009/10) divisions are almost at full capacity with only a few spots left. Don't miss out on securing a spot!

Lastly, our U18 (2006-2008) division is currently waitlisted. Please feel free to add your player to the waitlist. There's always a chance players will be released from the list and accepted.

Committed to Development
Aligned with the Canadian Player Pathways, we're introducing a new opportunity-based initiative. This program prioritizes nurturing players' desire to grow and develop, regardless of their current skill level. By offering each player equal access to ice and developmental opportunities, we're striving to cultivate a broad talent pool and create a balanced competitive environment where players of similar skills can engage and learn from each other.

Building on this philosophy, we're thrilled to announce expanded developmental opportunities starting this season. Beginning with the U7 level this year, we plan to gradually expand the program to include the U8 and U9 levels in future years. This initiative identifies and fosters the potential in each young player, encouraging their development at their own pace in a supportive environment.

This expanded program includes additional ice time, team-building activities, and participation in jamborees. More specific information will be available later in August through an interest form. Don't miss this fantastic opportunity—ensure your player is registered!

We're eagerly anticipating the growth and development of our youngest stars and are excited to welcome your young athletes to this next exciting chapter in their hockey journey.

September Development Sessions
This September, we're launching development sessions for all registered players. These sessions are designed to cater to a wide range of skill levels, whether your child is interested in honing their offensive, defensive, or goalie skills. Stay tuned for more detailed information regarding dates, times, and costs.

This season is shaping up to be one of the most dynamic and engaging yet. We invite you to join us for a season filled with growth, camaraderie, and of course, the love of the game.

Stay safe, take care, and we can't wait to see you on the ice!
