New Information: Stars Rep Academy
Non-Newcastle residents can now apply and we have a possible MD loop!

Summer's done, and we're gearing up for an exciting hockey season ahead.

We have had clarification from the OMHA on some rules and we want to share those updates as they pertain to the new Stars Rep Academy.

We are happy to announce we can now offer the Stars Rep Academy to non-Newcastle residents!  This means as long as your center does not have an MD program planned, you can register in Newcastle and take part in our academy program.

We also have identified some MD loops that we are looking to join. Stay tuned for more info on that.

Rep Academy Overview
For those new to it, let me introduce the Stars Rep Academy:

Following the footsteps of other organizations, we're introducing MD (Minor Development) teams at U7. It's an exciting venture, with an eye to expand to U8 and U9 next year. Our goal? Building chemistry among players for more competitive teams in the future.

Important: There are specific residency rules in place. If an MD Team exists in your area, that's where you'll play.

The Rep Academy is separate from HL. Envision it as an MD Team modeled after our older Rep Teams - a "Rep Prep" environment where like-skilled players unite.

Expect player evaluations, a coach selection process, and 2 league-provided ice times covered by your NVMHA registration.

Additional activities, team events, and jamborees come at extra costs. Initial estimates are around $1000 per player for the season. This may vary depending on the team's choices.

Good news! I'm working to get us in a loop to play other MD Teams this year.

Lastly, the Rep Academy aligns with Hockey Canada's player pathways and modernizes the OMHA for our young stars.
